Arrival Information
For those of you who are staying in our accommodation: The hotel you have been booked at is the Ibis Hotel, 15 minutes walk from the rail station and 10 from the university campus, its address and telephone number is 23 Marlborough Street Leeds, LS1 4PB, UK. Tel: 0113 220 4100 . You can find the location at Google Maps.
The check in policy of the hotel is that you can access to the room from 12, so it would be better if you can check-in after that time; if you arrive earlier they can store the luggages for you. For the people arriving on the Monday: you can either go to the hotel and leave the luggages there, completing the check in afterwards, or we have a locked office in the maths department where you can put them. Also the checkout is at 12, so using our office is an option to consider for the last day.
To get to the hotel from the station, exit the station from the main entrance and go straight for 50 yards, till you get in view of a square, don't cross the road, but turn left and follow Wellington street for ~300 yards, until you get to a big intersection with a bridge above. From there turn slightly left and pass under the bridge (it should be a one way road and cars should go on the opposite direction), when you get to the next crossing the hotel is in front of you.
If you are coming from the bus station, you might want to get the free city bus (leaves frequently from stand 3 and runs from 6.30 am to 7.30 pm) and get off after 7 stops at "Park Lane College stop" in Hanover way. Then walk back (downhill) to the main road (Park Lane) and turn right, cross it and turn left at the first one (Marlborough street), the hotel is at the end of it.
To get to university from the rail station is a 20 minutes walk: from the main exit go straight through the square, and take Park Row, cross a 2 lane road (The Headrow) and keepgoing straight until it reaches another big road (Woodhouse Lane), after bending slightly to the right. Then turn left and keep going until you reach a big white building with a tower (Parkinson Building). From the left hand side of the building go under the arches and turn left following the signs for the Edward Boyle Library, entering a long corridor with a red door, Maths department is on your right when the corridor finishes. (Some signs will be put around campus).
From the hotel Go on Marlborough street, turn right at the end and again left into Hanover way. Keep following that bendy road (that after a bit becomes Clarendon Road) until you get to a traffic light (a bit less than half a mile). Turn then right into the university campus and go until you find some signs for the Edward Boyle Library, follow them, entering a long corridor with a red door, Maths department is on your right when the corridor finishes. (Some signs will be put around campus).
From the bus station catch buses 96,97 or 28, and get off at Parkinson Steps (you see on your left a big white building). From the left hand side of the building go under the arches and turn left following the signs for the "north-south campus disabled access", entering a long corridor with a red door, Maths department is on your right when the corridor finishes. (Some signs will be put around campus).
