Schools outreach

We have an active schools outreach programme with events for all ages taking place both here at the School of Mathematics and within schools. Our aims are to inspire budding mathematicians and provide young people with an insight into Higher Education and the benefits it can bring.

These pages are specifically for Mathematics related activities, but you can find out about our wider Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) schools outreach activities at STEM@Leeds.

Events on campus
In partnership with external bodies we provide lectures, festivals, quizzes, conferences , revision classes and residential courses – find out more about what we have to offer.

Teachers’ resource
We have a long history of developing and maintaining contact with teachers in schools and providing them with important resources. This resource area includes information about undergraduate ambassador visits, AS or A2 level Further Mathematics Tuition, CPD for teachers and the long-standing Mathematics Teachers and Advisers Conference.

Talks in schools
From Maths and Magic, to Supernovae and Detonations, hear an academic from the School of Mathematics speak about their area of expertise in your school. We offer a wide range of talks for schools, mainly for Key Stage 5 pupils, on the latest areas of research in Mathematics here at the University of Leeds.

Through our popular roadshows and maths competitions, we can bring the maths directly to your doorstep. Find out more about our February Half Term Challenge, FunMaths Roadshow and Festival of Science.
