Alexander von Humboldt Professorship Award

Professor William Crawley-Boevey has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship after being nominated by Bielefeld University, Germany. The award enables winners to carry out ground-breaking research at universities and research institutions in Germany. Read more here.

Modelling the maths behind wave motion to aid sea rescues 

A mathematical model developed at the University of Leeds could make it possible to design safer versions of the 'fast ships' used in many vital offshore operations.
